A special cause run by some very special people.
“Brianna, our daughter taught us about the complex nature of the disease that she and so many other children battle. The GMO provides an opportunity for us to honor her memory and other children’s struggle. Very few know about Mitochondrial Diseases and the fight that children like Brianna are faced with; yet it has been found to be the underlying cause of many recognizable early childhood diseases. It is estimated that 1 in 4,000 children born in the US each year are in some way affected by the disorder by age 10.”
“We developed The Greater Mito Open to help fund research. Now going into our 10th year the GMO has generated funds in excess $150,000 after expenses have been paid that has been contributed directly toward UMDF’s mission: “To promote research for cures and treatments of Mitochondrial disorders and to provide support to affected families.” The GMO is the most successful ongoing fundraiser UMDF has in Wisconsin.
Keep up the great work David!!!
